Tranquil, unspoiled and untouched, the trek to Rara Lake is one of the most incredible and fascinating treks in the entire Himalayan region. The unique culture of this region blends in perfect harmony with the surrounding mountains and beautiful landscapes. We fly west across the Nepalese plains from Kathmandu and then head north to Jumla our trailhead. Jumla is a sleepy hamlet perched on a hillock with apple orchards that span out of view. The region is a treasure trove of sights and sounds waiting to unfold as the days pass. We make our way across remote countryside and enter the Rara National Park. We walk through verdant forests of blue pine, black juniper, Himalayan spruce, oak and Himalayan cypress. Rara lake set amidst quietness and remarkable landscape is a certainly one of the highlights of the trek. |
