Machhapuchare (Fish Tail)

This trek passes through a more diverse range of climate, vegetation and cultures than most small countries can boast in their entire, from lush vegetation of rain and  temperate forests and alpine climate to the terraced rice fields. The land and its people change daily, offering the trekkers a remarkable introduction to Nepal's cultural and natural beauty.

Outline Itinerary:
Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu 1,300m via respective airlines.
Day 02: In Kathmandu with sight seeing at places of interest.
Day 03: Flight to Pokhara 950m and drive to Bhirethati and to Sanctuary Lodge
Day 04: Trek to Ghandruk approx: 2,012 m. 3-4 hrs walk at Himalaya Lodge.
Day 05: At Gandruk for local tour.
Day 06: Trek to Landruk (Landrung) 1,600m 3-4 hours walk.
Day 07: Trek to Gurung Lodge at Majgaun 1,400m 2-3 hrs.
Day 08: Trek to and drive to Pokhara via Lumle and Chandrakot.
Day 09: Fly to Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel.
Day 10: Depart Kathmandu for homeward bound.

Day 01:

Arrive in Kathmandu 1,300m via respective airlines.

  On arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuwan International Airport you will be received by our staff and transfer you to respective 5 star Hotels, where our guide will give you a brief orientation of the Hotel, Kathmandu, Treks, do's and don't and other related information that you might require while in Nepal.
Day 02:

A day in Kathmandu.

  After your first night in Kathmandu, you will be well informed on arrival about the time for your half day guided sightseeing tour in Kathmandu at places of interest. Sometime, depending upon your flight arrival if it’s late in the night we will do this tour in the afternoon instead of morning to give you a nice rest before you venture out of the Hotel in our interesting tour.
Day 03:

A scenic flight to Pokhara 950m 1-hr trek to Sanctuary Lodge 1,100m.

  As per the flight schedule for Pokhara, our staff will transfer you to the domestic airport for a short half hour scenic flight to Pokhara. On arrival at Pokhara our trekking staff will receive you with two hours drive on the suburb of Pokhara to start this scenic trek. Walk begins from Nayapul passing through the charming village Biirethati by the River Modi and through the rice terraces by the River Modi with time for short walk.
Day 04: 

Trek to Ghandruk approx: 2,012 m. 3-4 hrs walk.

  The trek after breakfast leads to gradual uphill leaving the farm villages behind through with occasional view of the Annapurna ranges. The walk is fairly moderate with slow uphill on the stone steps, reaching the small settlement Kimche, from the walk is gentle as the path winds with few short steep up till Ghandruk is reached for lunch and for the overnight with ample time for a short walk around the Ghandruk. From here magnificent view of the snow-capped range and of the surrounding landscapes.
Day 05: At Gandruk for local tour and exploration.
  An easy free day at leisure, morning visit the gurung museum and meet the local  Gurungs, a Shepherd and farmer by profession and traditions, since last 18th-19th Centaury they are recruited in the Nepal-India-British Army and as well in Singapore Police as gallant Gorkha soldiers. Their courage’s fame has been respected and honored throughout the world for their incredible bravery in the last 2 great Wars. Meet some of the retired Gurung Gorkha soldiers they will be happy and welcomes you with their ever friendly smiles.
Day 06: Trek to Landrung 1,600m 3-4 hrs.
  After a wonderful time at Gandruk (Ghandrung) with great views of the Annapurna and beyond, walk leads to a descent with occasional views of the Annapurna mountain range, the walk on stone steps downhill passing through few small villages till Phedi is reached near the steady iron bridge over the raging Modi River after an hour trekking, after the bridge, a slow walk uphill for another hour to the village of Landrung for the overnight stop.
Day 07:

Trek to Gurung Lodge at Majgaun 1,400m 3-4 hrs.

  After Landrung the walk splits on the less traveled area through the typical mid hills farm villages, our route heads south with great scenery around trekking through patch of forest and farm terraces after few hours on this gradual winding path brings you at  Majgaon village. After having lunch in the hotel, visit a local house which has been converted into a museum in the local village of Tanchok. You can also visit a school and if there are more than 6 people in your group, the children along with the mother group will visit your place and perform local dances and typical songs of the region.
Day 08:

Trek to Chandrakot nd to Lumle village and drive to Pokhara.

  From Majgaun with mesmerizing moment in this isolated hill village, our route heads on the winding path through small patch of forest and farm terraces and scattered farm house reaching at at Chandrakot situated at an altitude of 1580 m. From here, there are spectacular views of the snow capped peaks of Annapurna South, the majestic mountain – Machhapuchhare and of Modi valley, a short walk through the interesting village of Lumle board in our comfortable coach or car for an hour drive to Pokhara, on reaching Pokhara with time to browse or walk around the beautiful lake Phewa and the surrounding hillside with Annapurna and Manaslu mountain range in the backdrop.
Day 09:

Fly to Kathmandu.

  As per the flight schedule a short drive to the domestic air terminal for the scenic flight to Kathmandu on arrival our staff will transfer you back to the Hotel.
Day 10:

Transfer to Airport for the International departure.

  Today as per your international flight time, keep your confirmed air ticket, and your passport handy. HimEX Staff will take you to the airport for your final departure from Nepal.
  Trip Extension:
Day 09-10: 2 days rafting at Trisuli River.
  Morning three hours drive from Pokhara to Rafting “put in point” at Trisuli River meet our river guide and crew members and start 3 hrs rafting with lunch on the way this scenic float encounters white water rapids, bouncy waves and overnight stop at Riverside Resorts. Next morning float till lunch and drive to the low lands of Nepal and to the Jungle at Chitwan National Park for elephant safari and other jungle activities overnight at Jungle Lodge (3-4 star standards Hotel or Lodge)
Day 10-11:

 2-3 days Jungle Safari at Chitwan National Park.

Full day Jungle activities with lunch and dinner break, the program include elephant safari, nature walks, elephant bathing, dug out canoe ride observing water birds and crocs on the shore.

Day 12:

Fly back to Kathmandu.

Morning after breakfast depart the Lodge for a drive to Bharatpur Airport the flight takes less than half hour, on reaching Kathmandu transfer to respective Hotels.

Day 13:

Depart Kathmandu for homeward bound.

Today as per your international flight time, keep your confirmed air ticket, and your passport handy. HimEX Staff will take you to the airport for your final departure from Nepal.

According to extra time you have, you can choose a visit to National Parks for jungle safari viewing rare animals, migrant birds and exotic reptiles or enjoy the whitewater rafting or take a cultural tour of Kathmandu, Pokhara, Nagarkot or even make a quick visit to neighboring countries of Tibet – Roof of the world, India – The country of wonders, Bhutan – The Dragon Kingdom. We can add these extensions before or after your holiday according to the flights that you have booked / can book. Beside these, if you even want just stay in Kathmandu for relax or any independent activities, we can book extra nights at the Hotel.
