We begin our journey with an amazing flight across the Himalayas to the ancient Tibetan capital of Lhasa. We visit the famed historical and religious sites including the imposing Potala Palace that stands tall and dominates the skyline. We spend some days visiting the sights and acclimatizing in the high altitude. We then drive via the beautiful Yamdrok Tso Lake and visit the religious landmarks of Gyantse and Shigatse. We drive across Gyatso La to Shegar from where the road climbs to the most wonderful scenic point at Pangla pass that offers amazing views of the great Himalayan peaks including the five eight thousanders, Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho-Oyu and Shishapangma. The drive continues towards Kharta for the overnight camp and the start of our trekking adventure in the vicinity of the high mountains. We follow yak trails and nomads camps with the ever present Himalayan giants to keep us company until we conclude our marvelous trip at the Everest Base Camp.
